A Letter to the Church in America

To the brothers and sisters of the Church in the United States, May God give you more and more grace and peace as you grow in your knowledge of God and Jesus our Lord. (2 Peter 1:2 NLT)

The year is 2021. Should we rather say the year after 2020? There is no need for me to reitterate the events of 2020. There is enough of that already going on. However there remains a choice laid in front of the church. What do we chose and how do we go forward? Before you dismiss this letter, I would like you to consider that this is not coming out of a conservative or a liberal mindset, but it is coming from an outsider, a non American but a fellow brother of the Church of Jesus Christ. Even though I am not an American, the truth remains that the Church regardless in America, Asia, Africa or Europe is one body and under one government in the Kingdom of God, under the Lordship of King Jesus. The Holy Spirit led me (a non American) to write this to the body of Christ in America, so you would receieve the Word of the Lord in due season, knowing that it is delivered to you without the bias of different American perspectives.

Several things have come to light in the US and around the world during 2020 with the COVID pandemic and even more toward the end of the year and beginning of 2021, during the presidential election in America. Corruption, injustice and lies began surfacing from the shadows. Now there is a new President sworn in to office in the US and many Americans feel abandoned and frustrated while others celebrate and rejoice. So what is the role of the Church now? Where do we go from here?

Church is suffering with an Identity Crisis

I see a lot of my brothers and sisters in America on social media expressing their discontent with the way election events unfolded, the way justice system was compromised and the way tech giants began censoring not only regular citizens but even the President of the nation. Is it bad? Sure it is bad. I understand the frustration and grief. But are we accomplishing anything with our ranting, venting, posting, complaining and boycotting? I see the Church stepping down from their higher Kingdom authority in order to identify with the kingdoms of this world. There is a serious pandemic of Identity Crisis in the body of Christ today not just in America but all around the world. Please Church, hear the Lord’s heart when He says this in love and I beg you not to take offense. When did the Church in America stop indentifying as Christians (“CHRIST”ians) and start identifying as Americans? And this applies to Church all over the world. Yes we are proud of the United States and it’s unprecedented Godly heritage. There is no arguing of any less. However, the Church needs to realize that America was born inspite of evil, due to the providence of God and people’s trust in God.

If we simply stop at the level of natural events and vent out anger and offense, all it causes is more division. There is a reason believers of Lord Jesus are not raptured to heaven the moment they are born again. The Church remains in this world for a reason. And that reason is not to complain, protest, boycott, abstain from this world. But to take over this world. Christians keep suggesting we need alternate media, alternate social platforms and alternate political party. That is not the solution. The solution is to take over the ones exisiting, not through violence or through natural means. But through executing and manifesting the Kingdom.

For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. (Ephesians 6:12 NLT)

Church is the Salt in this world

Even though I understand the frustration of Christians due to current events, it saddens me to see that church is doing nothing but reiterating the problem without presenting any solutions for the problem. Many in the body of Christ are still hoping to see a second term for the man who left office, Church needs to realize “the man Trump” is just that, a man. What one man did, another can undo and we already see this taking place. We need to realize that the last four years in America was a sign and a call – A Trumpet for the Church to wake up. God used an outsider who never ran for any political office to become His trumpet in a nation and do what the Church was supposed to be doing all along. Instead, we cling to the man and are desparte for his second term. Don’t get me wrong, as an outsider I can say several believers around the world who never even visited the US in their entire life, have receieve dreams and visions from the Holy Spirit directing to pray for Trump. And we will continue to pray for him and thank God for him. But we have bigger issue at hand. Four more years of this man in office is not the answer for America. There are bigger problems going on. Let’s say He was elected and what happens after the 4 years?

So the Church needs to come up with a strategy (rather receieve the strategy from our King, Jesus) and impliment it. It’s time for us to stop complaining and get to work. There are people saying I wont accept so and so as my president. There in lies the problem. It doesn’t matter who is in the White House to you (Yes it matters to the nation but not to the Church) because you are of a different kingdom. Church is meant to be the Salt. What does that mean? That means we are suposed to provided solutions to the world’s problems not to complain with the rest of the world.

Church is supposed to provide solutions. Not rant about problems. Be the salt!

Now what are these solutions and what are these strategies. Here’s few things we can do.

  1. Vote! (Not just presidential elections, but in every local election). Forget about the presidential elections for a moment. How many in the church can name their city Mayor, or the local police chief, or municipal authorites or even the leadership at the School boards? If we put Godly people in office at local levels its only a matter of time before we make an impact on a national level.
  2. Believe God and pursue your callings! Church has spent too much time inside the four walls. It’s time to pursue the God given callings and destinies. He wants us to be involved in the market place. Let’s stop arguing about whether there is such thing as health-wealth gospel and actually be prosperous and healthy so we can impact and influence our cluture. We can sit in our church buildings and talk all we want but if the Godly do not take control of the economy we cannot influence the culture of our world. If anybody is not on board with this idea here are few scriptures for reference to encourage you to study this for yourself in the Word of God and if it still doesn’t light your fire your wood is wet.
    • It is the blessing of the Lord that brings wealth, and He adds no sorrow to it – Proverbs 10:22 NKJV
    • I will make you into a great nation. I will bless you and make you famous, and you will be a blessing to others. – Genesis 12:2 NLT
    • For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sakes He became poor, that you through His poverty might become rich. – 2 Corithians 8:9 NKJV
  3. Pursue Excellence! There are Godly principles in the Word that we need to take advantage of to gain an upper hand and take charge of situations. They seem completely contrary to the ways of the world and to logic and intuition. But that’s the point. Scripture tells us to be wise as serpents and innocent as doves. Here’s one for starters…

Pray for Authorities

Therefore I exhort first of all that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks be made for all men, for kings and all who are in authority, that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and reverence. For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all men to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:1-4)

At the time Paul wrote this, the emporer of the known world was Ceaser, who was against Christians and even burning people at stakes. And the Holy Spirit through Paul gave the church a command to pray for people in authority. Because the office of authority comes from God, not the person in the office but the office itself. The people in charge may come in through different means. In some nations through elections and voting, some through lineage of kings, and some through corruption and toppling of existing governments. Regardless of how the people come to power, there is a way God will extend his grace to the ones in authority because of the office of authority. Whether they humble under God’s hand and accept God’s counsel or turn around and reject it is up to the individual. Here’s few ungodly kings paired with Godly men and women in the Bible: Nebuchanezzar and Daniel, Pharoah and Joseph, Other Pharoah and Moses, Ahasuerus and Esther, Herod and John-The Baptist, Ahab and Elisha. In each case, the directive for the people of God was not to escape or revolt the ungodly government but to be an answer.

Daniel stayed in the same palace as a governor in Babylon while four different kings changed rule. He did not deny to address any of those kings as “king”. We see christians having trouble addressing the new leadership by their title. It doesn’t matter how they got into they office. We cannot make an impact in this world when we keep debating whether or not we like the person in the office. Of coarse Daniel, denied them when they claimed to take the place of God in his life. He straight away disobeyed the king’s command when He had to choose between His God or the king. But he did not disobey the king because He was a patriot of Israel (Which he was, nothing wrong in that), but He denied the king because He was a Child of God. Because of that, God promoted Daniel and kept him in the office even when kings changed and used him to bring favor on God’s people even in a pagan ungodly nation, finally releasing God’s people from exile. Same thing with Joseph, Esther, Moses etc. If the ungodly Kings humbled themsleves and recognized God’s work, they were shown favor, if not God had a way of always replacing them. But the role of God’s people was never revolting, protesting or complaining.

Another parable He spoke to them: “The kingdom of heaven is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal till it was all leavened.” Matthew13:33 NKJV

We are not called to separate and isolate but rather to infiltrate and dominate. We cannot infiltrate the world when all we do is shout and reject everything.

God lets the wheat and the tares grow together in this world. Jesus also said, “For the sons of this world are more shrewd in their generation than the sons of light.” Luke 16:8. People of the world are wiser in this aspect that they learned how to silently infiltrate several government offices from local to national levels, and inflitrate the News media and infiltrate the market place and business world, while all this time Church was arguing and debating whether a christian should run for office or whether a christian is supposed to prosper or not. That is why God had to bring a prosperous outsider to sound the ‘Trump’et and expose the evil. But what does the church do now? They want to keep hugging the trumpet. It’s time church. Rise up and shine. Believe God for big things, recieve His blessing and be prosperous. Pursue God given talents and callings. Run for office in the local levels. Start those godly businesses, start those Godly banks, start those Godly news channels, start those Godly social media platforms. And teach your children how to do these things. Isaac was so prosperous that, kings came to him and made treaties with him. One man was more powerful than several kings. It’s actually good that social media is censonring us. Finally we can stop writing nagging posts on facebook that don’t present any solutions and actually get in the real world and do something.

Find out who the local authorities are pray for them. The devil knows how to influence authority to bring about his evil plans into this world. It’s about time we use our higher authority. When you bless your enemy, you put a heap of coals on their head. What does that mean? You have the power to bring Godly conviction on the authorities to influence them in a right direction. If they keep rejecting God, we don’t need to worry about it, God will replace the office. The king’s heart is in the hand of the LORD, Like the rivers of water; He turns it wherever He wishes. Proverbs 21:1. That scripture is not just for godly kings but for any king. When Esther prayed, and the jews prayed, the ungodly pagan king couldn’t fall asleep and “had a desire” to read jewish history and come to find out about the good works of Mordecai and we know how that turned out in favor of God’s people.

My dear brothers and sisters of the Church in America, it doesn’t matter who is the White House, the Church will previal and the gates of Hell wont be able to stand agaisnt it, if we know how to operate in the Kingdom of God. Please let us not confuse conservatism for Christianity and Patriotism for the Fear of the Lord. There are nations in this world where being a patriot means killing christians. Praise God America is not that way. Praise God for America for it’s Godly roots. But let us not forget that America was born because of God and She will only be saved by God but not without the church taking her rightful place. Please know that you are not alone. Rest of the body of Christ is here to minister to you and we pray and believe with you. We love you.

May the Glory of our Lord fill the United States and all the earth. Jesus is Lord. God bless you.
